Harry Potter | Books

Goodevening!
I just wanted to reccomend something i have been enjoying SO much recently; The Harry Potter series. I know these are meant to be children's books but i think i was either too young to read them when they came out or they just didn't interest me. Either way, i had a deprived childhood. I think there is/was a lot of hype over the Harry Potter books and most certainly the films (i mean who hasn't seen the films?!), however i never really got drawn in and to be quite honest, when i was younger i genuinely found the films really scary :').
But anyway, i have a really good friend at school who is always giving me really good book recommendations and she insisted i read Harry Potter. She is the biggest ever fan and has all the merchandise So, i gave in and picked up the book one day when i was staying with my grandparents. I then actually fell ill for about a week so these books became my best friends. I read the first three within about a week and now i'm on the fourth one which is much longer.
The plot: As most of you probably already know, Harry Potter is set at Hogwarts and follows the life of Harry and all the adventures he gets up to when he finds out he is a wizard. If you happen to be an advanced reader and often are into complex plots and sophisticated language, this probably isn't for you, but if you want something light and a great 'page turner'-This would be great.
Before i finish, i just wanted to say how much it annoys me when people say 'why read the book when you can watch the film?'. Literature is there for you to read, and so many people wouldn't love reading if it wasn't worth it! Trust me, just try reading - maybe even start with Harry Potter! You will most definitely not regret it! Reading can also be something to do when you wind down, instead of watching loud tv or texting.
Overall, i just wanted to share with you my opinions of this amazing series, and it certainly lives up to the hype!
Keep reading, Emma xoxo
